Joni Tedesco received her BA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her MA in Audiology from California State University at Los Angeles. She began her career in 1980 at the world-renowned House Ear Institute in Los Angeles. After relocating back home to Michigan, she worked as the audiology supervisor with a local ENT physician. She then established and managed a new audiology clinic at Macomb Hospital Center. More recently she served as an audiologist and hearing aid dispenser with a local hearing aid clinic. In 2002, Joni established Sound Advice Hearing Aids & Audiology. She is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association, licensed by the State of Michigan, a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Michigan Academy of Audiology. She participates in continuing education, and has been an invited speaker on hearing loss and hearing aids at St. Mary Hospital, local churches, senior groups, business groups, and cable TV programs.
Cheryl McQuillen joined Sound Advice Hearing Aids & Audiology in early 2004 as Practice Manager. Cheryl first came to us as a customer, the mother of a young hearing aid patient whom Joni has been serving for several years. As a regular visitor, she was impressed with the friendly, honest, quality care Joni provides, as well as the cheerful atmosphere of our facility. When she learned we had grown to the point of needing a Practice Manager, she knew she wanted the job, despite having an excellent management position elsewhere. She's friendly, energetic, efficient, and very, very organized. She will work persistently with your medical insurance provider to ensure that you receive the coverage that you're entitled to. Having been "on the other side of the desk", she understands your perspective as a patient and customer. In short, she's a perfect fit. When you call or stop by for an appointment with Joni, Cheryl will help you feel right at home.
Beth joined Joni and Cheryl at Sound Advice in December 2008 with over 17 years experience as an audiologist. Joni and Beth have known each other for much of Beth's career, having worked together at another hearing aid practice for years before Joni started Sound Advice in 2002. In other words, we hired Beth knowing with full confidence that she has the skills, experience, and dedication as an audiologist that you've come to expect from Joni.
Beth received her BA from Michigan State University and her MA in Audiology from Wayne State University. After completing her Clinical Fellowship Year at Children's Hospital of Michigan, she worked in a busy ENT practice for 2 1/2 years. She has been working in the hearing aid industry since 1994. She is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association, and licensed by the State of Michigan. She participates in continuing education to assure that her patients receive the most up-to-date technology and professional "sound advice" available. She enjoys reading and spending time with her children, and is very active in school and community events.
